How old do I need to be to rent?
The minimum age is 20 with a full, valid licence held for at least two years. Monarch-provided coverage requires a minimum age of 25; under that, you are welcome to rent using your own insurance.
What do I need to bring?
A valid driver's licence, proof of insurance that extends to a rental vehicle if you are using your own, and the credit card in your name that the deposit is held against.
How does the security deposit work?
A pre-authorization hold is placed on your credit card on the day of pickup. It is released after the vehicle is returned and inspected, usually within three to five business days depending on your bank. The amount varies by vehicle and is shown on each fleet page.
What is included in the kilometre allowance?
Each vehicle includes a daily kilometre allowance, shown on its page. Additional kilometres are charged at the per-kilometre rate listed for that vehicle, or you can add a higher allowance when booking.
Can I use my own insurance?
Yes. You will need to upload proof that your policy extends to the rental vehicle, including the provider, policy reference and expiry date. We verify it before confirming the booking.
Do you deliver?
We do. Delivery and collection within Calgary can be added when you book, and we will confirm the address with you before the pickup day.
What happens if the car is damaged?
Every rental starts and ends with a walk-through and condition photos. Damage beyond normal wear is assessed against the deposit, and the insurance deductible applies where a claim is made.
Can I smoke in the vehicle?
No. Smoking and vaping are prohibited in every Monarch vehicle. A cleaning charge applies if the car is returned smelling of smoke.
